In that case you wouldnt be able to play the file with ANYTHING. THORA has never claimed encodes to be restricted to l4.1 or to be compatible with standalone players and DXVA.

If you want 100% compatibility with those you can always buy the disc

Regarding the text on the image, the BluRay release provides some Afro Samurai related extras. Do you intend to make them available too?

@AXT: I don’t care about subtitles, I just said it to the other guy, though it could be nice because it’s not always that you can hear the voice actors as especially Afro talks/mumbles very low.

A small complaint however, the 1080p version does not conform to the H.264 spec. It uses 10 reference frames at level 4.1 while the maximum number allowed for that resolution is 4. Aside form being a bad practice to break the spec, this also breaks compatibility with hardware acceleration.

There is no such thing as subtitles for this anime so don’t even bother to look. This is made and animated for American TV by Japanese. The original dub is English.

BTW thaks for 1080p. It saves me the effort of having to encode it myself
